The transaction price of titanium first-grade sponge rose twice in the first quarter, namely at the end of January and early March respectively, and the price rose to 4,000 yuan/ton. The second quarter rose at the end of April, and the transaction price rose by 2,000 yuan/ton. The current market transaction price was 74,000-78,000 yuan/ton. In the second quarter, the price of raw material magnesium ingot continued to fall sharply, and the price decreased at the end of the quarter from the price at the beginning of the quarter. The cost pressure of titanium sponge has eased, and in June, the half-process enterprises gradually resumed production.
According to Tu Duo Duo statistics, from January to May 2022, titanium sponge production in 55,000 tons, down 8.12% compared with the same period last year, down 4900 tons, the first quarter output declined seriously, the second quarter with the release of old and new production capacity of enterprises, in May compared with last year, in the market start synchronous increase, June market output is expected to be 13500-14000 tons.
In the second quarter of the market by the "Russia-Ukraine war", the international titanium sponge demand has increased, the current war still continues, the market demand will maintain, sponge titanium exports will maintain considerable data; domestic titanium sponge enterprises have all resumed, market supply increases, downstream demand remains strong, enterprise inventory at a low level, and it is reported that enterprises will price stability, titanium sponge market price will continue in the third quarter high operation.
